WOW, 2008 Largest Halibut

Ah yes, an Alaska fishing trip aboard the Catita II is like no other! As soon as you embark, the captain sets a course and you are underway - the great Alaska Wilderness, yours to enjoy! While spending your trip living aboard the Catita II, far from the typical anglers who are stuck in a fishing lodge with limited range, you will have the opportunity to fish waters typically only seen by commercial fisherman.
A typical day... on your Alaska fishing charter trip:
Imagine waking up, grabbing a hot cup of coffee (or tea or cocoa) and hearing the engines fire up. A few steps to the galley and you sit down to a freshly cooked breakfast. The boat is on the way to the first fishing grounds of the day! This is the life!
After a successful morning fishing, you pull up your lines and cruise to your next destination - maybe a Salmon Bank, Halibut Hole, or Cod hot spot.
As the day ends and the fish are counted, weighed and measured, the crew goes to work cleaning your catch. You can be assured that your fish will make it home as fresh as if it was cooked that evening - which part of it may well be.
During your charter we professionally fillet, vacuum pack, freeze, and box your catch to fly home with you.

Southeast Alaska fishing can be broken into two summer seasons:
Early season (mid May through late-June) is a great time for Alaska king salmon fishing! Join us for a trip from Sitka, AK. "king salmon capital of the world", for an amazing king salmon fishing trip. Excellent Halibut fishing is also available. Fishing for other species can also be accommodated.
The early season also offers an opportunity to take in the beautiful and majestic scenery as the north country passes into spring and summer.
Halibut are abundant and many in the 100 lb plus range are taken daily. Silver Salmon, also known as Coho Salmon, as well as feeder King Salmon are also very prevalent during the mid-late summer season. The Catita II also targets the prolific populations of Cod and Rockfish found throughout Southeast Alaska.
