Chris developed a passion for the water at an early age, growing up on/in the waters of the great Pacific Northwest. It is hard to miss Chris's enthusiasm for the saltwater and the Inside Passage's pristine seascape! As owner and operator of Aquatic Edge Expeditions, Chris delights in sharing his knowledge and experiences with his guests. Issued his Captains license at age 19 he has demonstrated both innate skill and a thirst to master his trade. He currently holds a USCG issued 200 ton Master license (nearly TWO TIMES the USCG requirements to operate the Catita II).

When he is not captaining boats in Alaska, he is either engaged in technical scuba diving with Submerged Cultural Resources Exploration Team, or attending Western Washington University towards a bachelor’s degree in Computer science.

Join Captain Chris to experience Southeast Alaska from someone who sincerely wants you to experience these unique and unspoiled waters. He is delighted to tell you the history of the area, show you the wheelhouse explain the navigation system or help you land the largest halibut or Salmon of your life! Captain Chris is committed to make your Southeast Alaska experience one of your best vacation memories!

Shawna first stepped aboard the Catita II in 2006 where she instantaneously fell in love with Southeast Alaska and all it has to offer. Aboard the M/V Catita II, Shawna discovered she could combine her passion for the culinary arts with helping people experience all that Alaska has to offer.

Shawna not only has earned her bachelors degree in Political Science, she also holds a USCG 100 Ton Masters license. Although Chris is captain of the Catita II, you have the reassurance of two Captains aboard!
